What are some things that you wish you knew about the mod before starting? I'll go first.
I wish I knew how important it was to rest units. The penalties for being tired are way steeper but resting is a lot quicker so its important to get a tempo of rest in. Or if you're the greenskins or undead you can ignore it largerly.

Ranged units are waaay less accurate at long ranges, take longer to reload, but they have a lot more immediate damage. They hit a lot harder in a shorter duration. Also great weapons and general unit upgrades often come with downsides. Sometimes a higher tier doesn't always mean a purely better unit.

I mean personally I wish I found it sooner, it's nice to have something to fill the gaps SFO leaves, and have another complete experience that isn't over bloated

"Chaff" infantry are more important, even if you have a lot of points or a very advanced army, you need the large healthpool/unit pool of cheaper infantry to take the brunt of attacks. In skirmish battles you will find that while elite infantry are devastating, they don't have the health to withstand focused attacks from Artillery, ranged units, or magic.

In campaign, "normal" infantry are even more important, since you will want to use your elite troops in more battles it is better to have chaff take the brunt of enemy attacks so you aren't stuck waiting for replenishment on your very limited elite troops.
