I- New additions:

New Culture - BETA

After a couple of months of bargaining and a few head aches, the Jade Blooded Vampires are now their own culture, in addition to their own subculture (this is to ensure less conflicts with future Jade Blooded faction mods other than mine). Naturally, this comes with some some changes, for better or worse.

First off, the Jade-Blooded have 3 unique post-battle options now:

  • Feast of the Dead - enemy captives are devoured, giving 10% replenishment rate and +5 melee attack for 1 turn, on top of 4% replenishment rate to immediate casualties in your army
  • Soul Sacrifice Ritual - enemy captives are sacrificed to increase winds of magic reserves by 5 and unit leadership by 4 for 2 turns
  • Bewitched Spirits - enemy captives are released, but lowers public order if in enemy territory and also increases your army's movement range by 12% for 3 turns
The race also now has several new culture-themed artwork, ranging from settlement occupation options to event feedback messages.

The current issue for the race right now, which is a big one I'm still trying to solve, is that it has no generated missions or dilemmas right now. You can still receive random events but you have no missions or objectives.

However, the race does now have functional short victory and long victory objectives unique to itself; mostly concerned with conquering nearby provinces around the Nongchang Basin and constructing the faction's unique landmark or as far conquering Cathay itself and eliminating all of Cathay's major factions.

Finally, since the Jade Blooded Vampires are their own culture now, they are also divorced from the Jiangshi Rebels faction that rule the Nongchang Basin by default. Instead, the Maiden of the Black Lotus starts with a larger army now and is situated just outside of Nongchang itself and begins the campaign being at war with both Jade Custodians and the Jiangshi Rebels. It's a rather tough fight as you have to eliminate the smaller cathayan force that cornered you while also having to immediately besiege Nongchang and take your ancestral city from Yuewei Xiaolan's grasp. Thankfully, your starting army should be more than enough for both battles and you can immediately bolster your forces with spirit hosts.

New Unit - Gore Hags
The Jade Blooded Vampires have lost access to Dire Wolves and Crypt Ghouls, so in their stead, come the Gore Hags. Gore Hags fill in the role of the infantry unit lacking from the Netherworld Beast archetype in the Jade-Blooded Vampire roster. Much like most of the Netherworld Beasts, Gore Hags have poor melee stats and leadership but compensate by having strong weapon damage, charge bonus as well as having the frenzy and dark realm manifestation passive abilities. Gore Hags, like crypt ghouls, have poison attacks but can also be used like dire wolves to quickly get around the flanks and attack softer targets.

New RoR Unit - Yellow Heaven Bannermen (Revenants)
Styled after the historical Yellow Turban Rebellion, the Yellow Heaven Bannermen are imposing melee fighters armed with large clubs that can wreck through enemy lines. These revenants also come with frenzy so their initial charge will be most devastating and they also have encourage to help nearby units to fight longer in the fray.

Oh and Hei has longer hair now :)

II- Known Issues:

  • This update is NOT save compatible with previous versions
  • Captains of a minor settlement will appear as generic empire captains
  • This mod is currently conflicting with the Less Red More Art - UI mod and will cause a crash if trying to interact with settlements
  • As mentioned above, the race right now has no generated missions and dilemmas.

III- Other Notes:

Race/faction-bound ancillaries/Magic items are next in line to be properly added. I'm not yet sure how to add them but I've made quite a few already (you can see them via console commands)

As always, the mod is still in a beta so things bound to change, even more so that I have plenty of systems to work from the ground up since I'm working with a new culture now. I may have missed to implement some key elements for the jade blooded vampires so if you do spot them, please report them in the comments section.

did you try all combination of MCT settings? For other custom factions, like TEB, disabling the parchment UI thing seems to enable for it to work properly

I haven't played the faction yet but those post-battle options seem hella strong.
