Nerf the zombie hit range. Seriously, some hits feel like they are from a bus-length away.
1:amount of zombies per wave will scale with player count
2: respawning can be optionally configured, respawning can be disabled until either the game has ended or be allowed in-between waves (perma-death will set your high score individually, wave respawn gives everyone the same high score, obviously)
obviously, the game will end when no players remain instead of when one person dies
