Ideology addon: Iconoclasts/Curators precepts
Iconoclasts: they seek to purge this world of the effimerous works of art. Anything that is artistic is considered futile or even evil to them and they get a mood buff by seeing statues and paintings burn.
>Gets a debuff with the presence of statues and paintings exposed in the colony
>Gets a minor buff in very dull rooms
>Gets access to a special version of symbol burning
>Minor debuff in buying and selling art
>Growing mood debuff for not having destroyed any art form in a while
>Access to a holy symbol burning, where the paintings get burned. The higher the total value of the pieces, the better the outcome and the mood boost.
Curators: the followers of this ideoligion find in art the highest of the principles of life. They get an extra boost in art skills and the leader of the group is the best painter. A curator leader can boost creativity and mood by talking to another follower of the ideoligion in the colony.
>Leader: grand artist
--The grand artist can make a "performance", giving a good mood boost and a low chance of inspiration to all the colonists in radius
--The grand artist can "give advice on art" to a fellow curator, temporarily increasing the quality of crafted objects and pieces of art
>Boost by having art pieces in the colony, negative mood by lack of them, like the Scrapper precept in Ideology expanded
>Increased art skills
>Minor debuff on selling art/lowered relationships with other colonists
>Huge debuff on destroying art/lowered relationships with other colonists
>Small colony-wide mood buff when a masterpiece is created
>Tantrums tend to be against art pieces
>Both ideologies combined with the raider ideology get accest to a holy heist: a site guarded by humans or mechanoids have a piece of notorious artistic and economic value inside a well-protected vault. Will you get it to expose or to destroy it?

@royalPawn Hmm. I tried this, but I couldn't think of an efficient way to implement it. I might reach out and see if a programmer can make this work as a mod option, because that's a good idea!
@matteflb Yooo, a whole colony revolving around art- for better or for worse. That's a great idea! Most of the functionality you described would have to be done via C#, which I can't do. But if you find someone, I'll always help with the art. 😏 The paint gun, though...I can't help but want to give making that a go!
I had the same idea than @Green Man when I saw this mod.
AI art is here to stay. I don't think it's gonna replace artists but artist will probably adapt and do AI assisted art.
Using e.g. Stable Diffusion + recently leaked NovelAI you can fairly easily generate tons of images with specific content, art style, level of competence on the artist's part etc. You have to generate them in advance since each batch takes some time to generate on an average consumer grade PC.
You could generate batches of specific real world artist's styles and pin them on colonists ingame to give every colonist a recognizable style.

I want to clarify that I don’t mean all paintings should be AI generated. Yes have a huge set of custom made ones like the mod already has made by talented artists but maybe as an research option you unlock a self portrait mode where your colonist draws up a painting based on the current game art descriptions. That’s then run through an AI generator to create the painting.
That way you can get paintings based off actual events that happened to your colonist. That’s what I was aiming for.
