Bio Weapons. Using biomass instead of ammunition.
Exibit One

Caustic Cannon
--Fires a cannon shell that inflicts very heavy damage to armor and structure, but no chance of causing fires. The explosion of the shell is not a hot and fiery shockwave but rather a blast of acid.

Focusing Eye
--A lens that is made out of biomatter. It is very sturdy and regenerates just like bioarmor, though due to the biomass having more of a restriction then the actual prisms, the Eyes reduce the range and power of the ion beam somewhat. HOWEVER, it does give those shield-less ships a way of having these energy weapons without compromising itself. It is advised to only use the eye as the exit point, and use normal prisms to merge beams.

Feedback Turret
--A bioarmor based emitter. It uses energy accumulated behind nerve endings to fire short lived beams at incoming threats. The feedback turrets are capable of healing, and have somewhat more durability then normal point defence.

Feedback Pulser
--A larger variant of the Feedback Turret that fires condensed bolt of bioenergy, meant to tear through shields with ease. Requires a supply of energy.

All bio weapons requires a Hive Core to function. Without it, the weapons are as if they have no power.

Exibit Two- Missiles

Rather then having missiles, the bioships use drone-like entities. They require biomass to be fired.

Caustic Drone: The small critter flies over to the ship to the best of its ability, then explodes into a blast of acid that does heavy damage to the enemy.

Parasite Drone: The small critter flies over to the ship to the best of its ability, then attaches itself to it for a moment. It has a short lifespan, but during its life, it drains the energy surrounding where it hits (Functioning like an EMP missile)

Burrowing Drone: This drone is much larger then the other two, however, upon impact, it fires a spread of a few perforating tritium needles to hopefully find the heart of the enemy.

Each types of drone requires its own factory to be built, which are 'Brood Pods'
Brood Pods require biomass, and some type of material, to assemble the drones.

Caustic Drone: Sulfur and Biomass
Parasitic Drone: Copper and Biomass
Burrowing Drone: Tritium ore and biomass

add a crewmember factory. 1000 biomass is a free crewmember. i have no clue if that would work, however.

on another note, claws! 5 range "laser" style weapons that dont need crew or ammo, and deals a lot of dps. Maybe have multiple sizes, a 1x2, 1x4, and a 2x8, each dealing more and more damage.
forget specialized ammunition that burrows into a ship, just do it yourself!

A kind of "Bio Core" thats 2x2 and does the same thing the Mind Blob does, but with one input and one output, with a much less efficient system, and acts as a core just like the Mind Blob. Also, add in Control Room, Wireless Power to 8 meters, and a built in crew capacity of 4. If you can make it so more than one can be used per ship, good.

The goal of this? to make extra small ships that can utilize the spike to ACTUALLY burrow into even medium ships.

To suppliment a BIO only ship base, BIO variants of Storage (plus a 1x1), Engines (up to standard) and Point defence, Laser Blaster, and Small Cannons, but modified a bit.

To get that to work with the scabs, you would need to have either larger variants of the scabs (similar to asteroid parts), or somehow make it spawn in 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 etc etc groups of scabs.

For the guns, Bio Point Defense (better name needed) would be fueled with biomatter instead of plasma, and shoot similar to the Flak Cannon: instant, high damage.
The Laser Blaster (Bio Blaster? Eh?) would be supplied with plasma and biomatter, but otherwise have the same stats as a small laser blaster.
The Bio Cannon would consume biomatter, and work equally well on shield as well as armor.


To support all of this, the Mind Blob (Overmind, please!!) should be at least twice as efficient as it is now, with the Bio Cores acting as secondary minds/hearts, but still usable on their own

Why all of this? A BIO only ship. So far, its heavily cybernetic.

Now. Bugfixes. After just two or three fights, a 4x4 storage can fill up with JUST crew corpses. So PLEASE increase the stack size of the crew corpses dramatically (maybe 50 or 100), and increase the stack size of the Biomass from 100 to 200.

If you made it this far by skipping, read it again please, though i dont blame you. If you made it this far without skipping, whats you opinions? I dont think ALL of this will be in the mod, but I do think any one of them will fit the style.

A bioweapon that turns regular compartments into bio version of it, and it begins to infect the rest of the vessel and eventually destroys itself like scabs (or turn into scabs) (aka infection gun or sum)

Maybe a Mouth storage that just sucks up mats in a short range make it look like a 4 sectioned mouth like that sand worm just a auto resource collector but also a storage.
maybe a point defense that scream knocks away or destroys missiles. or one that shoots like teeth or something
swarmer missiles deffinately ones that do good damage
a starter flesh ship we could have at the beginning once you get the more weapons figured out.
a flesh themed power plant gen etc. flesh themed bedrooms. mining mouth or flagella or maybe just a flesh themed laser might be ok. carapace armor since the current stuff doesnt have too much health

Could we get a smaller version of the overmind? Perhaps one that doesn't create biomass but does allow regeneration? Right now my biggest issue is that i can't put the overmind onto my small ships meaning that one of the main draws bio armor has, it's regeneration. Is completely gone.
