Cambalache 2 - Total Remake. Quality: 9.5/10, Difficulty: 7.5/10, Length: Long. Played On Expert.
Cambalache 2 - Total Remake (Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a solid remake, and is essentially a sidegrade to the original Cambalache - Buenos Aires (Argentina) Custom Map.

Cambalache 2 is directly comparable to, but arguably a little worse than the original, in terms of overall balance; despite still being extremely enjoyable and well-made.

The overall difficulty was raised with the addition of slightly longer paths, one Chapter being made slightly longer and split into two, an all-new extra Chapter being added, and a special overpowered Uncommon ‘Fire Immune’ Infected that is seemingly immune to all damage other than headshots (though Melee weapons and explosions are likely still an instakill on it, due to game programming).

The Fire Immune is also super-fast (being able to keep pace with Survivors under the effects of Adrenaline), deals 5 fire damage to you when you bash it, continues to deal damage with its flame briefly after dying, and it can notably stack its 5 fire damage per tick on Survivors *ludicrously* quickly on-contact with them, dealing around 30-60 damage/second to Survivors that it’s able to rub up on (we had one person get Defibrillator resurrected on the Finale next to a chasing Fire Immune Uncommon, and it burnt the person doing the Defibbing (on Adrenaline) for 40 damage, then proceeded to stand on top of the resurrected player as other Infected attacked, immediately downing them, and then rapidly killing them whilst they were incapacitated; dealing over 390 damage in about 12 seconds).

However, besides on the Finale, the difficulty added by these changes and additions was effectively nullified, as a result of most Chapters on Cambalache 2 being absolutely loaded with guaranteed First Aid Kits, Defibs, Pills/Adrenaline, unique drinkable ‘Mate’ thermoses that act as a stationary multi-use Pills, and other consumables. All of which there appears to be considerably more of than in the original Cambalache 1 (and that campaign was already generous with supplies).

The biggest change, of course, is the addition of two more Chapters. Chapter 3 from the original was split into Chapters 3 and 4, which are now also slightly longer. And a completely-new Chapter 5 has been added between Chapter 3/4 and the Finale Chapter; thus bringing this map up to 6 total long Chapters (and with them the total campaign Length has been increased to Long).

The newly added Chapter 5 is fun and well-made overall, and fits in nicely with the rest of the Chapters. No complaints.

Other changes include the cast being switched from the L4D1 characters to the L4D2 characters, some paths being blocked and new paths being opened, some lighter areas being darker and vice versa, minor alterations to various areas, areas having more art, assets, detail, and sounds added to them, some alterations to scripted events, the Finale being set to Night (which is relevant as it has Witches on the path, just like in the original), the area before the Finale being extended and modified (with another Crescendo notably added, as well as a chance to get a Tank and a Witch spawn), and the Finale itself being slightly different.

The Finale event on Cambalache 2 is similar to the original, but has some notable differences, being a Defend-Tank -Easy Gauntlet-Double Tank-Easy Run To The Boat (whilst the original was a Moderate Gauntlet-Rest Stop-Tank-Moderate Gauntlet-Double Tank/Hard Gauntlet).

Notably, the double M60s provided at the end of the plank observation walkway are excellent to use against the Double Tanks, making the fight much easier.

Overall, Cambalache 2 - Total Remake (Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a solid remake of the original Cambalache (which I previously rated 10/10), with my only complaints being some minor general balancing issues, too many supplies, and the overpowered Fire Immune Uncommons.
