Spec abilities
Squaddie:
  • Next-Gen Propellant boosts chemthrower range, but cuts width. Also ups damage by 1/1/2 depending on tech tier if using a fire-type thrower.
Corporal:
  • (66%) Trial By Fire permanently boosts aim/will by +1 at the start of each mission.
  • (33%) Fierce Mien debuffs any enemy within 4 tiles by -10 aim.
Sergeant:
  • (66%) All Fired Up grants fire immunity and ups ALL dealt damage by 1 if standing in fire.
  • (33%) Rush of Battle adds a focus system, 3 points per kill, 1 for kills by squadmates. Each point adds 1-2 dodge, or, if spent, heals 5% HP.
Lieutenant, captain:
  • Particulate Haze allows throwers to blind for 2 turns, cutting vision. (to 27%?)
  • Fulmination does explosive damage (no fire) and blows up explosives, even worn ones!
  • Aggression boosts crit chance by +5% for each seen enemy, up to 30%.
Major, colonel:
  • Burning Rush gives a move point and makes basic chemthrower attacks free for a turn.
  • Searing Magnesium doubles the critical component of a thrower crit's damage. (if you deal 4 damage normally but crit for 7, crits now do 4 + 3*2 = 10)
  • Valley of Death locks down a cone, with each shot hitting all foes in it.
Brigadier:
  • Nightmare Fuel has a 25% chance of panicking on ANY chemthrower attack. Meant to be combined with earlier perks to quickly stall out entire groups.
