Hi, I had a revolution as France but decided to switch side. By that time I had two medium-size exhibitions of egyptian and pre-colombian artifacts, with 29 each. I won but all the artifacts disappeared.
Also, my leading archeologist died a few years prior but I couldn't recruit a new one, and still can't after the revolution.

Thanks for the report! That's an interesting situation. Variables - like artifacts - are bound to a specific tag. I'm not sure how to solve this problem, I may have to think about it. Revolution mechanics are still a bit arcane to me. Just to understand it better: when revolting, you still had the museum and the artifacts, or did they disappear in the moment you switched sides?

I think that they disappear in the moment I switched side or after I annex the other side/tag, since my capital was not on the side I switched for. I still have the museum in Paris, but when I go visit it, the pop-up says that the museum has 0 artifacts in each collection, when I used to have 29 in two of them.

I'll think about a solution, but it will take a while. I have to look at some basics how rveolutions work, it seems like it generates a new tag which won't inherit variables after the revolution is won. However, this may explain some other bugs in the vanilla version ...

If you insist, I can try to fix your save game, at least.

Don't worry about it, I just reloaded a save that I did before starting the revolution.

But I did notice something when you do a revolution and switch side, some buildings are destroyed. I lost my lvl 15 university and my lvl 20 construction sector, as well as some lvl on industries and administrative building.

Also, I do have a question. What are the requirement for the greek and mesopotamian expeditions to appear ? Because that's also something that I noticed, it's after I did the revolution I had the "Find Troy" and "Translate Akkadian" in my journal entry, but not before. And after reloading my save and continue my campaign, I still didn't have them pop up, despite being in 1876.

Regarding the lost buildings, that seems to be something caused by vanilla, as far as I can say. I'm under the impression that the mechanic has some unwanted effects.

Also, the AI sometimes deletes factories and other buildings when handed over to them in a rather quick manner, if the AI considers it worthless. One time, the AI dismantled its own ports at game start in a vanilla game.

Deciphering Akkadian will show up if you have Antiquarianism and the game date is after 1850. To complete the journal entry, you need a museum, a lvl 10 university and an archaeologist. This is a global journal entry: if any nation is able to do it, you can travel to Mesopotamia (the first nation which deciphers Akkadian gets a permanent prestige bonus).

Finding Troy will show up if you have Early Archaeology and the game date is after 1870. You need a university lvl 15 and a literacy rate of at least 75 %. Like the journal before, it is global.

Have a look in your Journals! You'll get Art Nouveau/Impressionism/Expressionism via Journal Entry if you fullfil the requirements. I may have to hide the requirement for "Modern Art", however, as I need this hidden technology to show the player the technologies in the tech tree.
