Morgenröte 2.1.4 “Kafka” is on the way. This will once again be a very big update. As the name suggests: this patch brings the publishing industry, writers and literature! In addition to painting and music, the third branch of culture would finally be here and rounds off our mod perfectly.

But that's not all. There will also be numerous innovations in many other areas, such as archeology, but also a complete re-organization of the observatory. Many technologies and PMs that particularly affect the natural sciences for later expansions (including physics, chemistry, geology) are already built in as a foundation in this patch, even if the features come later.

We've decided to add a few things now because we don't want to destroy your progress in "Dawn" with savegame-destroying patches later.

Therefore, it is very clear at this point: 2.1.4 will not be compatible with your previous savegames. There will be no more updates until 1.7 that could potentially endanger your savegame.

2.1.4 Kafka is targeted for May 17th. We will be entering a test phase starting this weekend. Due to the numerous changes and enhancements, beta testers are welcome! This is also why we want to do this major update now, because we expect many users to return from 1.7 onwards, and we have time between the release of 2.1.4 and 2.2 (at the same time as 1.7) to fix bugs and other problems.
