My issue seems to have been fixed, oddly, by hitting Play instead of Continue from the launcher and manually launching my saved game.
Also I moved it up a little earlier in the load order.

Something about AI companions is causing crashes for me. The crash log seems to point to donating prisoners, so I suspect it's something to do with AI companions being taken prisoner and transferred to dungeons. Not entirely sure though.

I did some testing with brand new sandbox files and having AI companions disabled didn't cause a crash for 2+ years of in game time. AI companions at 100% caused a crash within a month repeatedly.

Saving shortly before a crash, the crash will happen every time with consistency, so it's a specific *something* that is happening causing the crash.

This crash happens with and without any other mods, I disabled all my other mods for the testing once I isolated which was causing it.

Interesting, I'll probably just hard-disable AI companions for now, since something TW changed in the game causes crashes when they exist.

--Done. Games that have previously-generated AI companions might have problems, but no new ones will be made...

It's sad for the flavor loss, but also I'm not sure how much they add to the game mechanically anyway, so I suppose it's not the biggest loss.

AI companions definitely fell into the category of features that I'm not really a fan of that lots of people seem to like... Disabling them isn't any problem for me, but we'll see how much extra effort is needed to re-enable them finally.

The settings below are not working. The Settings files removes them when the game launches.

<!--
If we care about the companion limit, how many extra starting slots do we get?
-->
<bonus_companion_slots_base>3</bonus_companion_slots_base>

<!--
If we care about the companion limit, how many extra companion slots per clan tier do we get?
-->
<bonus_companion_slots_per_clan_tier>2</bonus_companion_slots_per_clan_tier>

I'm having the same problem with companion limits, it won't override the native limit. I'll play around and see if I can find a fix with load orders or anything I can do in the game, but if anyone comes up with a solution I would love to know!

The companion limit changes are old and not actually used in this version of the mod. I stripped out some very old, unreliable functionality, and that included things that were reliant on Harmony, which tended to break on game loading.

The mod's new settings file is located in the workshop folder, and has the unused settings removed.

I just had a troop get promoted during a siege assault... but the troops of that type in MY party had 0 kills. One in another party reached the qualifying number of kills, and it let me promote my own instead. Is this something that was overlooked because sieges are different from battles or something, or is there something more technical causing this?

When multiple parties are participating it's a lot more annoying to distinguish which agent belongs to which party. It's something I'm aware of, but haven't gotten around to fixing yet haha

In fact, I think I put a fix together. The mod's been updated now.

Ah whoops, didn't see this. I guess I'll repost it here.

Is there a way to verify that this mod is working in my save? I tried using the debug command, but it's coming up as unknown command. But I'm not sure if it would do that because of not working or because I don't have cheat mode enabled. I've been trying to get some Gallant Sword Sisters to companion-up but while once or twice I thought I'd gotten them to the requirements, it didn't proc.
