Suggestions
Not saying I'll implement everything, or even most things, but some features I really like came about because of comments on Nexus, so I definitely want to hear peoples' ideas.

This may sound odd, but I was wondering if you could prebuild "templates" for the Distinguished Soldier promotion to be chosen at random (or otherwise)

I.E. Governor gets Steward, Charm, Leadership
Blademaster gets 1H, 2H, Athletics
Hunter gets Bow, Riding, Tactics
Manipulator gets Rougery, Charm, Steward
etc. etc.

Or something similar. I always wonder what my former peasant and now Elite Infantryman wanted to be when he finally made a name for himself. He may not have wanted to be a murder machine, he might have wanted to be a doctor.

So you're thinking the "random" skill selection should be a bit more targeted?

I seem to remember this mod giving you a few extra companion slots. Doesn't seem to do that anymore. Any chance of that coming back?

Not at the moment - that functionality was reliant on Harmony, which grew inconsistent. At the moment I don't want to add extra dependencies, so instead you can just choose whether to respect the companion limit or not.

For that, You can use "Useful Companions"
https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/1033
(Companions will behave different and also get appropriate experience)
To have extra companions, go in:
C:\Users\(your pc name)\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Configs\ModSettings\UsefulCompanions
open: "config.xml", there find: "<clan_member_limit_boost value=" and change the value to your liking if you give 3 then you have 6 companions, for 8 you get 11, for 40 you start with 43 possible companions, etc

Hi,
could you add a configuration to suppress the upgrade function of the mod.
When the troop get upgraded to companion it seems to gain some levels an it gets some random skill upgrades.

Background:
I was trying to make a companion only playthrough.
Your mod is great for this. I change the configuration like this:
upgrade_to_hero = true
tier_threshold = 0

My problem is, that my low level recruit ends up a level 10+ killing machine ;-) and is very expensive. This prevents the delicious early game struggle.

This is more of a personal preference thing, but perhaps add an option to add/not add the title extension to companion names?

For example I have custom names set with titles ie. "General Blahlius Borger" and in-game it comes out as "General Blahlius Borger the knife" or something similar. I would like to remove that just for convenience.

Personally I think the title additions are very cool though don't quite fit in the campaign I'm running at the moment. Maybe there's a possibility to add options to customize the available titles added onto companion names in the future? I think that would be sick

my suggestion is that the picture for this mod is an absolute work of art and should never change. that is all :steamthumbsup:

Would be great if there is an option that promotions would increase the companion cap automatically. I just tested it and ignoring the limit currently means that it can go over the cap, causing the issue that soon one of your companions will leave the party afaik.

I don't know if the game keeps track of this, but if a top tier troop from your army wins a tournament in a city you are in, he could be entitled a promotion...

can you add the feature where you can change their weapons?
Hi Vaskebjorn,

I would love to be able to change the settings of the mod by using using the mod configuration menu insted of browsing the mod files

Would it be possible to add settings to reduce the additional skills and attributes that the new characters receive upon promotion? I think it's a bit silly to have the random spearman I promote suddenly get 100-150 in every combat skill and more attribute points than the character I've been playing since the start of the campaign.

Love this mod. Helps to create an excellent immersion experience. A Cut scene would intensify that element, IE: The locking of arms on the battlefield. Overall a fantastic mod. Keep up the great work!

hello is their any chance in the future that if you auto fight that troops can still be recruited to companions without physically entering the a fight
