You have to edit an xml file. Go to your drive that steam is downloaded to then \SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\261550\2892150920\ModuleData you have to edit the troops.xml file. Open the file with either notepad or visual studio. Roughly half way down the file the elite troops start. For every single elite troop you have to change the line that says is_basic_troop="true" to is_basic_troop="false". This has so far fixed the mod for myself. I recommend starting a new game after making the changes.
