crashes at the start where you enter at the station

for me cause i have 2080 super and 10900k

I like this mod so much, but can´t play it.....often it´s crashing, maybe the problem has to do with autosave?

5900X / 3080TI / 32GB / Quest2 here.

I notice, when i restart the game, my savegames(autosave) has no pictures, only some big colored squares.

I understand that it is very, very complex to program something (a game mod) that work for hundreds of users (gamers) well. No pc + headset + driver + versions + windows are the same settings and makes. All different ! And don't forget: this fabulous mod is an open beta at this moment. I have only minor issues that might be solved with the last update from Chiuey. Will try tonight. Just for info I share my setup and gear data:

No lag, no crash, no stutter so far :)

After update it´s the same problem for me....much crashes and strange looking savegames (also manual saves)

All other mods runs without crashes, only my fafourite mod i can´t play...that makes me sad.

Make sure all the parts (1, 2 and 3) are enabled. It should say when you start the game. The saved games should show a thumbnail picture of where you saved. If it doesnt work, I suggest unsubscribing, delete the 3 files in your half life alyx folder, and resubscribing.

As far as crashes, at this point I am certain it is a performance issue. Please lower the fidelity to low, if it still crashes, lower your resolution to 50% just for the first map. Once you get to the the second map, you should be able to raise the resolution back up to 100%, and may try raising the fidelity again. DM me on steam if you need more help!

Ok, with low settings it looks like, the crashes are gone, but i will test more tomorrow.

Strange is, with high settings there is enough room for more, it runs good and smooth, but with crashes.

I did it on Low And it Still crashed at the beginning I'll try again soon

Another strange thing is, the "low GPU memory" warning at the beginning (Oculus Quest2).

With Virtual Desktop, this is gone away, but same result, as Oculus Link.

....ok, this has nothing to do with the mod!

p.s. my savegames has still colored squares, but so far, it´s working.

...maybe it´s interesting, which HMD´s has this problem?!

I have also been experiencing crashes. They usually happen whenever I do something, like shoot an enemy or put on a mask, and sometimes right after I save. Sometimes it happens randomly, but it seems like it usually only crashes whenever something happens. It's not just in the lab when it crashes though, I've gotten through many chapters and it still happens.

As others have mentioned it runs smoothly and there aren't any signs of bad performance in-game, but it seems like it just randomly decides to crash at some points. I will try out lowering the fidelity and will report back with the results.

EDIT: Lowering the fidelity did seem to help, I was able to get further without a crash than before, although it did still happen. Hopefully you are able to find a better way to prevent crashes, but even with the issues this is one of, if not the best addon I have ever seen for this game!

I have a crash in the first map, where is the train and hero must blow up a "flower" to lower the ladder. It randomly crashes on this location, maybe it depends from zombie behavior, which reacts on me before I met him.

with low settings no more crashes, but this is a strange solution, like i said, performance is also good with high settings.

It’s such a shame as it’s a fantastic looking game but just keeps crashing at the station . So annoying, hope there’s a solution to this .
