Skull digger bug

every time the skull digger is killed the game is soft locked, resulting in no items being able to be picked up until the world is reloaded. Also he drops no items and will respawn randomly

Are you playing on multiplayer by any chance? If so multiplayer is non-functional as stated in the mod description
