Custom AI skins

Hello all. I'm trying to import a skin for the Explorer but can't really seem to get started. I've created the skin from the template and have been scraping through the mod folder but can't seem to find anything that would relate to the skins. Is there a specific program or tool I should be using? Thanks in advance!
