Horde Sandcastle

we want more Elko
On a more important note: We need to sign a petition mandating that Elko design a reverse horde map (where players siege and complete objectives against an ever spawning horde.) Same principles of death = respawn as skeleton after 'x' period time, which means you are either going to wait in the spawn area or risk losing weapons you bought. At each 'forward' spawn point you can buy weapons at the chests scattered by the spawn tents. The main difference is you are trying to work together, not only to survive, but to eventually WIN by completing all the objectives and doing something epic at the end to win. I have an idea for the final 'objective', there is a map called Demon's Lair on some custom map supporting servers that has a final objective of killing the skeleton lord. It's like a 100 foot tall upper body of a skeleton that breathes fire and attacks you with an axe. the non siege side still gets to spawn, so in our hypothetical map horde would still spawn while you are trying to destroy the massive skeleton.
This would take lots of work, but together if we harass and possibly donate Elko enough he would potentially consider this as an option. I know in his heart of hearts he wants to do the right thing and make players happy.

I think funding him to make another map would be sweet : )

And for sandcastle, if this is possible it'd be funny. Whenever a wave is completed, on the next round the first player to die ( if any died) spawns as an enemy X) preferably as a peasent/warrior for first dozen rounds but as a wave commander or king/bruiser later on.

Hell yeah, lets take the fight to Alibaba and break down his cursed castle! The King of the Desert must fall!

PS: If ur asking urself "who the hell is Alibaba?" dont worry, its just an old HSG meme...

Why would a Mason players, who fought already a few waves, want to suddenly switch teams to end the game and lose his progress? Gaining score by killing Masons would be pointless because it's not possible to use the score later.

And that makes things complicated, some players even now have problems understanding that you should not attack other players. If you switch teams out of nowhere, it's confusing.

And agathian players would have too much of an advantage because the other players are too busy fighting the horde.

Btw. Ben, your wall-of-text could use some refactoring. See 'Throne-Defence Mode' discussion for an exampe :P

The Mason player wouldn't (always) want to, that's why it'd be great motivation for the players to not die first :)

So to motivate them to try as an Agathian maybe they have to do at least a little dmg to not lose their stuff?

It'd be funny to be a lowly weak peasent with the same low health as the other serfs as punishment for lack of skills.... probably not possible..... ^.^

But back on topic a reverse Sandcastle option would be pretty awesome :) each wave makes more defenders. Certain enemy types rush out of castle to take the battle to the sand and the rest play defense. A bunch of archers on the wall, auto dumping oil, a siege weapon for the main gate, kings guards with light sabers, malric with a giant-er-est lightsaber/Killenge.

Ben, that's a great idea. Wish I thought of it.... oh yea... I did!! LOL.

But seriously, Elko, Ben and I would like to do something like this on multiple maps. We have been talking about it for a while.
