-No airblast
-100 Primary ammo carried
-10 Damage
+Alt fire - Spray gasoline on enemies, making them take mini crits on fire Within a 2-4 second limit
+10 secs Afterburn time
Update(s):(Cooldown timer if gas is used, Making Insta-Kills less common, Here's how It should work: You use the gasoline, But can't use fire for atleast 1.5 - 2 seconds, requiring for teamwork from another pyro), + 1.5 secs weapon switch speed (almost put 15 lol)
(Alt fire consumes 50 ammo per use, so no spammy-spam)

This could be the compression blast based weapon we've all been waiting for;

+50% Airblast force
-50% Airblast ammo consumption
Blasting opponents into walls causes damage

-25% Damage
+50% Fire ammo consumption
+25% Slower weapon switching
-50% Walking speed while firing

Honestly, this would be an interesting airblast-based weapon. Maybe also changing the flame spread...

PROS:
+50% Ammo carried
-25% Airblast ammo cost
+15% Wider Effect Cone (Both Airblast and fire)

CONS:
+75% Ammo to spray flame
-25% Flame Damage
-20% Afterburn Damage

PURPOSE:
For all those PyBros out there with the Homewreckers, keeping up the good fight. Extinguish more allies, push more enemies away and reflect more rockets. Just don't rely on your fire to save you when an angry heavy chases you down with his shotgun...rely on your allies.

In other words, helps Pyro be a better team player.

I was either thinking an Item that sprays flamable gas that hangs in the air which is ignited with Right click, or sprays gasoline on the ground which can be lit as a wall of fire type deal

The idea of a weapon what can create fire walls it's not so good as everybody thinks, because that weapon 'll become a perfect spawn-blocker, it's a idea smilar to the facestab butterfly knife, well, less lethal than a facestab, but it's still dangerous
Pros: -99% Airblast cost
+100% Airblast Pushback
+100% Afterburn damage
+100% Burn Time
Cons: -100% Damage Penalty
No secondary Weapon

PROS:
25% more spread (fire covers more area, also for airblast)
33% more afterburn damage
Killing someone with afterburn adds 50 ammo.
CONS:
-10% damage
No random crits
After 3 airblasts, the flamethrower breaks and you must wait for it to repair.

I think with the Backburner and Phlog, we don't need more weapons that discourage airblasting.

To be honest, most of these flamethrowers I wouldn't use over the degreaser. I see that some of you want it to be more support-based, but I never really find myslef running out of ammo particularly much, still able to reflect projectiles, help engies and extinguish teammates while also having a powerful offensive weapon that can combo well with many secondaries.

Eh, it could come out the shower head. In TF2, this sort of thing isn't important.

On a related topic, anyone think another name could be "The Homebrew Hellraiser"? With all the parts you could find at home and all.

pros:
33% more fire width
on hit slows

cons:
33% less fire length
10% less dps
10% more airblast cost
Whiskerbro 25 Jul, 2014 @ 10:40am
A lot of these ideas are way too complicated.
How about this:

-50% airblast cost
+30% afterburn time

-30% afterburn damage.
No random crits

STAR_ already pointed out why this kind of weapon would be incredibly annoying.
