Garry's Mod

ARC9 Weapon Base
Performance, A civil complaint
It's really sad that people are malding so hard and resorting to calling names and insulting the brilliant modders who made this! While I agree the performance is very low when you have an entry-level PC, This is still such an amazing mod. (rn I have a I7 6700k and a GTX 1070. not a potato, but not a Lamborghini with a 4090 either.)

I wish more of us could be reasonable about this! Instead folks have to rage like nuclear Karens. One could complain and criticize, especially from personal experience, without acting like this.

Anyways, I tried about everything. x64 client, mcore_test 2, other related commands and all that, performance still dropped over 30 frames, and for someone whose framerate was around under 90, or 60 something (for a 120hz monitor), that is a hefty dent on performance. I could upgrade, but my main PC, a much more powerful PC is in the repair shop so that's only a matter of time. While I could remove many of the 100's of mods, maps and HD textures I have installed to Skyrimize my GMod, It's way more convenient for me to simply use other bases like ARCCW, MW Base, or TFA.

Take my advice, unninstall some addons, and get some addons to increase your performance

i didnt need to do all of that for mw base

Agreed, Don't get me wrong, this is a really good mod and is fine if you have a RTX or something. but I'm currently borrowing a PC with a GTX 1070 and an I7 6700k.

Not a potato, but also clearly not ideal for running ARC9 especially with the hundreds of mods and HD textures that I use ti Skyrimize my GMod

My suggestion, if all else fails, is to do the same thing, either uninstalling excess addons, or more conveniently, use ARCCW, MW Base or TFA. That, or upgrade your PC if you can.

This base sucks
It doesn't matter how good your PC is if the code is badly optimized.

Cpu performance matters
>200 fps on r5 5600 while shooting in singleplayer
Servers are different story, but youre madman if youre running this base in mp

Sounds about right. Mine's an I7 6700k. I had a feeling it wasn't necessarily my GTX 1070, as that GPU kinda holds up even tho it's old... for non 4k at least. While the I7 also holds up, it sure as hell ain't no Ryzen 5 5600!

If the x64 GMod branch also supports more than 8 cores, then HOLY BALLS my CPU is far behind rn lol (still waitin' on my main PC repair. xD)

Gpu is barely utilized in gmod

is there any reason your base is slowing animations down? how can i fix it?
Update: Woops! I pamper my PC more than I take care of myself lmao

I'm a bit of a hypochondriac when it comes to making my PC last longer... and I'm only borrowing this one rn! I just tuned throttlestop to run my CPU either at or much closer to regular clock speeds (still disabled turbo)

Like a health obsessed bloke who sees the doctor for every little thing, and when the urgent care is closed, goes to the ER for a micro zit to make sure it isn't a fatal poisonous bite from the global conspiracy of super turbo Illuminati biker elephant man bear pig moo shoe pork cow mcdonald's clown lizards... but to protecc mah cumpewtor!

It runs at a much better framerate now. still drops frames the most, more so than MW2019 which is a good one to compare it to, but it's perfectly playable and I can better enjoy the MW2019 ARC9 version which has dual wielding and camos. niiice! (Not to mention the CSGO ARC9 pack... which also goes to town with Akimbo) :D

and yeah, GMod is CPU heavy, so when it doubt, adjust your CPU as needed. I'm using an Intel i7 6700k CPU, so if you have a AMD Ryzen or a more recent Intel, it's only gonna get better for you.
