Vehicle or this mod? No driver in locomotive when pushing

I set to push-pull without flipping the engine, so the locomotive goes backwards when pushing.
It got no driver.
Is this solely an issue of the vehicle mod itself?

I would assume so.

You can test that:
Disable the train shunter mod, buy a train with the locomotive in question on both ends, so that in the vehicle editor the double headed arrow appears (marking the train as reversible). Now put it on a line between 2 terminal stations and observes weather there is a driver or not when the train is running backwards
