Hi everyone as many asked in the comments section about how to test your weapon finishes or skin in game,its pretty simple you just need your VTF file.

Now you need to go to your CS:GO main folder
For Example am using P90
you will need to go to this 2 paths and its not there by default so you may have to create the folders

\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\materials\models\weapons\v_models\smg_p90
\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\materials\models\weapons\w_models\w_smg_p90

Note:
v_weapons is the view of the skin when you are holding the weapon
w_weapons is the view of the weapon skin on the ground

Now you have to make 2 VTFs of your skin one should be in the folder which u created inside v_weapons and the other should be in the folder which you created inside w_weapons

now name your VTF file something
in my case its

p90_bonds and i will place it in

v_models\smg_p90
and
w_models\w_smg_p90

----------------------------------------------------------
v_models VTF size must be 2048x2048
-----------------------------------------------------------
w_models VTF size must be 512x512
-----------------------------------------------------------

******Make sure the game is not running ******

now go to csgo folder
which is \Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo

Find a file there named -----> pak01_dir.vpk

make sure you make a backup of that file because we are going to edit it

now open it with notepad (i prefer notepad++ and its free)


First u will need to search in for your weapons name

in my case am going to search for smg_p90

you will find alot of smg_p90 but scroll down until you find something like this

For w_models

"$baseTexture" "models\weapons\w_models\w_smg_p90\smg_p90"

now i will change it to

"$baseTexture" "models\weapons\w_models\w_smg_p90\p90_bonds"


and then for the v_models


"$baseTexture" "models\weapons\v_models\smg_p90\smg_p90"

now i will change it to

"$baseTexture" "models\weapons\v_models\smg_p90\p90_bonds"

Notice: I changed the smg_p90 to p90_bonds
its the name of the VTF i placed in the two folders

v_models\smg_p90
and
w_models\w_smg_p90


Now save the notepad after you changed the things up


and that's it congratulations you are done

now go test it in game and make sure you use it OFFLINE with BOTS
don't use it in normal matchmaking online

when you are done testing your skin and taking pictures

close the game and return your original pak01_dir.vpk
which you made a backup of it before
