Hi with regards to the night time visuals lorewise the world has 2 moons with the second being smaller and giving of green light. Would that be something you would consider adding?

Hello.

In my first iteration of the mod I used two moons (see screenshot)

but then I decided to go with single one because it being a single texture it looked weird when you move the camera.

Great work, I agree with some others, many maps are somewhat too dark and corruption effects are a bit much at times.

Corruption needs a fix on Creative Assembly's side in order to not look like ♥♥♥♥.

Instead of maps having a corruption glow whenever corruption is high, map items similar to the campaign map corruption effects should be randomly added to battle maps. Items like


  • Chaos black crystals for Undivided corruption
  • Tzeentch blue cyrstals and screamers flying around for Tzeentch
  • Lava and blood ground ruptures for Khorne
  • Special cream ruptures and fleshy tentacles for Slaanesh
  • Bloated trees, pus ruptures, and sickly grass for Nurgle
  • Warpstone crystal formations for Skaven corruption
  • Black / blue brazier fires and graveyards for Vampiric corruption

One thing I really dislike about the current corruption effects on lighting is that the skybox emits colored light depending on the corruption being highest which makes the background elements of maps look awful like a badly implemented halation effect on mountains.

Certainly Maz. I am talking primarily about the lighting on units, particularly at night or when influenced by corruption I find most units extremely dark and hard to see from certain angles. Some of this naturally comes from everyones individual brigthness/contrast/gamma settings, but in vanilla this generally was not a problem for me unless one was on a map where there was an enormous shadow. Great improvement overall eitherway ;)

Yeah, in vanilla not much of a problem because nights were extremely bright, so it is a side effect of making nights darker.
But it can still be improved and I will definitely try to make units more visible at night or in corruption with the next update

Just a quick 'thanks' for this one. Its absence is one of the reasons I hadn't moved on from Game 2 yet but this is a huge motivator to get a copy and finally make the switch. Thanks for the huge efforts.

It is nice to add Chaos Realms Skyboxes to Chaos Wastelands, but I think it would be exaggerated to do this to other maps. It is better to be exclusive to Chaos Wastes maps.

I wonder if the battlefield of the mortal lands where corruption is %100 can be turned into Chaos Wastelands? Because we almost never see the maps in the Chaos Wastes in the game. As the corruption decreases in the area, it returns to its natural state. I wonder if this is possible, it sounds cool. And... Magnificent mod!

Nice mod, just as ultimate weather for twwh 2 back in early 2020 (I still remeber Nagash Pyramid as night battle).

Suggestion regarding this mod. I don`t know is it posisble with mod conficruation tool mod (betaish), but it would be nice if this mod could add some menus which allow to choose day and night time and weather type on mapswhich support this, just like in total war: troy and older historical titles.

Also I`m curious about depth of field blur. Is it possible to just remve that by adding line of text in preferences.script.txt, something like "depthofieldblur=0" or "depthoffieldblur =false". If it is not possible, is it possible for you to create tiny mod that overrides just depth of filed, removing it?

I like both a bit grim and natural feel of this mod`s lighting and fairy tale style of vanilla one, however, I dislike that in vanilla game maps are so blurry when zooming out to the point that I just can`t enjoy battles like in twwh 2. I have slighlty miopic vision, but never see distant objects blurry like maps in this game, I just don`t see many details, exactly like in twwh 2 maps. This mod is already my salvation, I just would like to know if it`s possible not only change game, but to fix it.

I`m sorry for quite long post and possible typing errors due to working day, needed to clarify everything in this comment.

Fair point about realms skyboxes only being in wastelands.

I don't understand your question, Chaos Wastelands are in the game, with or without corruption.

As for the menu, I am not skilled enough to make it unfortunately, althought I think it would be definitely possible with the Menu Mod.

The mod already reduce a huge amount of blur, do you stil see it?

Sorry for my great English. I mean, for example, when the %100 Chaos corruption in the Empire lands is, the battles fought there will take place in the Chaos Wastelands terrain. I just wonder if this is possible for this mod.
