The ability to craft CD's or tapes with custom sounds or visuals in whichever file format works with PZ, I'm no dev so I cannot speak on the difficulty of such a task. But it would be cool to leave a message in a players base or to just have my own in-game mixtape to play while driving.

I also like the idea of just having better build options for interiors or having like a whole other upgrade tier when it comes to base building.

Firstly, thank you for bringing suggestions, but I was more looking into suggestions related to this mod. The idea is to keep it as a "framework" so other modders can expand on it, so i don't see your suggestions as suited for this mod. Also, the sound thing is quite tricky to pull off, and I also can see many ways people can exploit it to grief.

I see in one of the images that a well is featured, does that mean you added functionality of wells as a crafting station? If so it might make sense to add the ability to use a pot of water as an alternative because finding a well could be pretty frustrating.

No, there are only 5 tables added and they are the ones on the thumbnail, the well was only to showcase the forge. But if you want you can already find mods on the workshop that allow you to place wells.

With the toolbox worktable that was added for Mechanics, the little toolbox in the vanilla game has a capacity of 20. Maybe bump the worktable's to 30?
I thought a bit of it and the following things + for what they could be used for come to my mind:

A carpenters table for some woodwork crafting like furniture

Also like a big metal workingstation for something like the big car addons from KI5s and the Autotsar mods working as something like a T2 metal station

Maybe something like a chemistry-lab but more breaking bad like for some of those "bad drugs" mods?

Also maybe some smaller kitchen utensils like a mixer for smoothies or something.

Possibly something for brewing but that seems extremely farfetched

I've also seen many mods having vendors and stuff, maybe different vending machines or other way ppl could use those "crafting stations" to "trade (craft)" all sorts of things. Since the ones i've seen have resorted to use sometimes 3D items in order to achive this but imho a pixel-tileset would fit much better

@Narutohorse Uchiha I apreciate the ideas, but due to lack of time and the upcoming build42, I have this mode on mantainance mode. I will keep updating and fixing stuff, but I don't plan on adding big changes until build 42 is released. I prefer to use the time on the mining mod and on a procedural dungeon generation mod prototype that I'm toying with

Hey i was thinking that you can make a tables that you need to make some things like guns, car parts, gunpowder and ammo, and much more
migalone2 29 Apr, 2023 @ 5:19pm
and i think you might want to do this on build 42 when it is released so you have more time to add and not have to deal with an update that might be in a few months

NOTE: I have no idea how long until the update will happen im jest saying it might be soon and it might not.

Would it be possible for the context menu options for building the crafting tables to be placed under the carpentry menu instead? I know they may not all fit perfectly under there thematically speaking, but in my opinion it'd fit better gameplay wise and help reduce context menu clutter, as it seems a bit much to me to have them outside of a submenu.

It would be nice if the requireTool field in the table definition could accept a Tag, rather than a Type. I'm tinkering with something that would require a shovel, and it looks like I will have to specify just one of the vanilla shovels. It would be nice if I could specify the 'DigGrave' tag so any tool with that tag would be allowed.

To add on to what Sowilo said, it could be like the Carpentry menu, which requires a hammer to be in your inventory to see it in the context menu. Maybe have it require a screwdriver in your inventory to see Crafting Enhanced Tables on the context menu?

I agree with @Hugo Qwerty. Same with the stone hammer.

Big suggestion here, the workbenches should require tools to craft but replace the need for them in recipes ie when you craft a workbench all the tools are there by proximity just not in any container you can access as they are built into the table, it would simplify tool juggling by a lot.

As said previously, I don't intend to work on this mod until Build 42. It seams the game is currently reworking the crafting, so it's highly likely be rendered useless. Only time will tell
