I realize that Radious mods remove all the strategy from recruitment with cheap upkeep and limitless recruitment almost anywhere. I amended this by
1) Adding upkeep per difficulty level and by the skill classification of the unit. For example, it is possible to group units into peasants, retinue, elite and noble. I am planning to have a different upkeep tier class for each unit on top of the base income increase.
