There is a bug that causes the game to crash when manually playing a battle rather than resolving the battle. I'm not sure what may cause this bug but it has only happened to me a few times with the mod so far. I thought maybe because of the amount of units to load into the battle but has also happened for smaller battles.

Known bug: Playing as the Suebi faction, battles after turn 10 may cause your game to crash, regardless of resolving, withdrawing, or playing the battle. Avoid playing as the Suebi at this time.

Known bug: Playing as the Syracuse faction, battles after turn 10 may cause your game to crash, regardless of resolving, withdrawing, or playing the battle. Trying to quite out of the game after multiple testing also can corrupt the game save, avoid playing as Syracuse at this time.
