Playing as Austria, I had the whole of Northern Italy puppeted. Had just fought a war to humiliate the Sicilians & take their remaining North Italian provinces (which I immediately gave to my Papal State puppet), but then a few months later I just blink and see that Two Sicilies has annexed the whole of the Papal States, despite it being my puppet. No war, no diplomatic play, no event, nothing. Reloaded various different autosaves in the few months previously, and it happens every - usually within a few days of loading the save.


Is this a vanilla issue? It's extremely annoying and counter-intuitive - you can waste an awful lot of money and troops and infamy on securing Italy, only to watch it disappear moments later with nothing you can really do about it.

I know this mod makes some changes to national unifications, so not sure if it was caused by vanilla or by the mod - but if it is a vanilla issue, it seems like the sort of thing this mod usually tries to fix.
