Sound FX Overhaul
The Archivist  [developer] 27 Feb, 2023 @ 9:52pm
What else from the sounds do you wish to be changed?
The update for this will come around the 14 march, assuming no issues arise due to Conan chapter 3.

Issues/Requests fixed as off: 5/march/2023

Water doubling and un-synced lake audio (reverted to default lake and river audio and improved it)
Loud Dancer Steps (reduced step frequency and volume)
Booming loud footsteps from big or giant creatures (reduced volume)
Crows in the brown forest (had a wind audio with an incessant crow; changed to subtle wind)

If at all possible (I don't know how the assignment works) soften the footstep sounds during dancing. I'm all for better footstep sounds, but the sound of having dancers around is maddening as it is!

Do you feel this mod makes them louder or is it a request? As far as I know, I only touched player footstep sounds, but if it is a request, I'll look into it ;)

It's definitely a request!

I didn't know if the mod affected the footstep sounds of dancing/dancers (for all I know, they could be inheriting the "normal" footstep associations) but the hammering of dancers' feet is such a pain, it became something of a byword for things that drive you bonkers on the last server I ran for a group of friends.

You'd think professional dancers would be light on their feet! :)

Hahaha you have me rolling

I can imagine how annoying it is since I did reduce the player stomps. I'll look into it, its probably an easy fix but I wont be able to update until they release Chapter 3. Its because they block uploads from the dev kit.

I generally endorse the idea, but something went wrong with water, it is reverbed to the point of self-echoing, is way too audible and in way too far distance also inconsistent with how water flows, still, lake-like noobriver sounds almost like a large rapid stream and since CE have no other type of water then still it makes it universally inconsistent

Can you tell me in what location of the map this happens?

The problem is that Funcom doesnt specifies what audio plays where. Example: there's like 10 different audio players and all of them are called river. thats it. So I went and placed a river sound on all of them and also a voice line with a number and visited many rivers, and what I noticed is that some areas overlap and some areas dont even have sound and others use the same sound player for a pond or a river or a lake. So I exaggerated the distance and volume on all of them. While I did some testing, it was fine, but more than likely you found a loop hole. If you are interested in helping me find a solution, please send pictures of the map and the location of the issue to my discord.

If possible, can you change the booming, unimmersive sounds of creature footsteps to sharp thuds at the most? This would be realistic and not in the least be any means of causing people to have headaches from listening to the sounds.

Absolutely will look into it since I find them annoying
The sound of the crows cawing needs its frequency reduced. I haven't timed it but it feels like the sound plays and 5-10 seconds later it plays again. The forest must be packed to the brim and bursting with crows to hear them that often. Thanks.

Hi, I’ll look into it, but what forest are you talking about?

The dry brown forest to the northwest, the green forest to the north, or the jungle to the southeast? If you can post the map coordinates even better. Thanks

I forgot to ask what map this mod is for. I'm talking about Siptah. N10 by Riverwatch keep. I have a feeling you are doing the original map. If that is so don't worry about me and keep doing good work.
