An (Extremely Overdue), Update.
Hi there!
tldr is towards the bottom
It's been a minute since I've last done anything with this pack so I figured as I should probably update and have a quick F.A.Q. to get everyone up to speed on what this pack is, and will be going forward.

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has viewed and shared this pack, never really thought it would be as big as it has been over the past year and a half. I've even gotten the honor speak to a lot of really cool big name modders this community has, and that alone has made this experience worth while.

But enough patting myself on the back, lets get into it.

F.A.Q.
Q: This looks/sounds broken! Will you please update it?
A: Yes. But, from what I can tell I all things model and sound related are fixed and haven't been an issue for months. But if you run into an anything that interferes with gameplay, please let me know on the mod page.
Q: Will you be adding support for multiple weapon skins that were added in the TLS update?
A: Maybe. I did state in a comment on one of the mods that I would be adding those at a later date, however I've never gotten around to it and I don't see a reason to work on adding them now. Perhaps down the road if I get bored I'll release an update for them one by one.

Q: Will you be porting this modpack to anything else, like GMod or Source Filmmaker?
A: No. I will not be doing that myself, as I have no desire to do that. For a bit of a better reason as to why, the whole models themselves would probably need to be overhauled and polished up to something that I would consider "acceptable" enough, to release it for something like GMod or SFM, as it was never made for those in the first place.

Fortunately, if you really want to use them, IvanCorn , has taken the time to port them 1:1 to both GMod and SFM, so give those a go.

And for the big one...
Q: Are you going to ever update or add anything new to this pack?
A: Maybe?  I know that answer is a little ambiguous and underwhelming, but I'll try my best to explain why.

When I released the M16 back in March of 2023, I never intended for it to become a full weapons pack, just more so of a learning experience and getting to know the ins and outs of creating mods for one of my favorite games of all time. Taking the time and effort to learn Blender and creating audio mods has been both very fulfilling and fascinating, but frustrating and time consuming.

I saw how much people liked the original mod, and I decided to keep searching for stuff the TF2 community has made over the last 15-ish years and went through on editing and porting those to L4D2. Obviously the weapons are not perfect and they never were going to be, that was not my goal.

When it came to texturing and modeling, I've made some questionable decisions (If you have tried editing the textures on these things, trust me you know. The UVs alone would give any texture developer a stroke.) and If I had the time or the passion I would absolutely go back and remake these from step one.

But burnout is a real thing, and when you do these things solo, you need to have passion and carry a lot of discipline to keep people at least satisfied.

I definitely have good ideas I could add to this pack when it comes to the melee weapons or consumables items, but as of right now I can't say whether or not those will be coming.

Who knows? Maybe one day I'll blow off the digital dust my Dead Fortress folder has been collecting and get back to it.

But until that day comes, I can confidently say that I am happy with this pack as is and do not want to touch it for the time being.

Sorry about the lore dump and wall of text, but I hope that answers some of the questions I've been receiving and gives some insight to what this is all about. But incase you don't really want to read all of this or care...

tldr
Yes I will fix gameplay broken stuff if it comes up.

I might add TLS weapon skins in the future.

No, I will not remake or port these to other games/software.

And maybe I'll add more weapons in the future, but I am happy with this pack for now.

I hope this thread gave you some sort of answer you were looking for. But I'm done with writing for now, but remember,
Please go support the original mod developers. None of this would exist without them.
And again, thank you to everyone for the awesome support. Take Care.
