Sporecat: Criticisms & Suggestions
I think this has the potential to be a great mod, I really like the concept, however I have some criticisms.

-Spawns: I've been playing through the game as normal and I've been getting next to no arthropod spawns. Some regions just seem completely barren of them. Not sure if this is intentional or not, but it's pretty much defeated the entire point of the mod.

-Spear damage: Giving the Sporecat Monk-level spear damage while also having Hunter spawns on is just untenable. (At least I'm pretty sure it's Monk-level.) Lizards take way more hits to kill than they should, there are way too many of them, and I can't even de-mask a vulture to keep them at bay.

-Food pips: You can have reduced pips, or you can restrict corpse-eating to arthropods, but not both. It's very restrictive. This combined with the fact that there are severely reduced arthropod spawns means I have basically been starving the entire game. I can't eat 80% of anything I've been able to kill. Batflies are also arthropods, so I'm not sure why they would have the same number of pips as a blue fruit or a slime mold.

Sorry if any of this seems harsh, I understand that stuff like this takes a lot of work. But I've been playing this mod a lot and these things really bothered me. The work that's been done on the Sporecat themselves and the in-game artwork is great.

I recommend you install the mod "No, don't eat the spiders!", while it doesn't solve the third point it does make spiders a reliable food source (Especially Mother Spiders), it feels vanilla & it goes with the theme of the Slugcat.
If you want less "Vanilla-like" solutions to your arthropod problem I'd also recommend installing "Scutigera" (New Centipede) & "Surface Swimmer", you could also download "Red Horror Centipede", but that thing is genuinely so unfair that I believe only Sporecat & Artificer can kill it.

Actually there shouldn't be so few arthropods, we'll check again.

Regarding the combat power of sporecat, we may slightly weaken the damage of sporecat against arthropods (mainly against large arthropods), but at the same time, we can make spore powder have other more functions, maybe dust explosion (just an example, but possible), Make sporecat more resistant to mobs other than arthropods, but not too strong.

We are interested in adding new arthropods, and adding new areas for sporecat, I am working on making new areas!

The content of these plans will not come so soon, we will first look at the problem of sporecat not being able to eat.

I've changed the spawn so that it always use Hunter as base, and add anthropods from there. Hopefully this'll resolve the first issue.

hey I have a question are you planning on maybe adding custom creatures. or new regions. I'm asking these questions because the spore cat is kind of Op. maybe you could have a creature that could dodge your attacks or maybe a creature with special abilities. or what if you added a super-strong centipede variant. that's all sorry for such a long message.

We have plans for this, but it won't happen so soon.

This message will contain Spearmaster (Or Artificer) Campaign spoilers, but it still relates to this mod and more specifically the creature spawns.

There seems to be a specific issue with spawns for Sporecat, relating to Shoreline. I am unsure if this is just a personal glitch or not, but for my game, it is attempting to spawn Waterfront Complex creatures rather than any Shoreline ones.

For example, room D02 in Waterfront Complex spawns a secret golden long legs, being a recoloured Brother Long Legs. However, in Sporecat's campaign, room D02 in Shoreline additionally spawns that same Brother Long Legs, however it is strangely not golden like the original.

Additionally, when I was entering the main water body of Shoreline (the one you immediately visit after travelling through Garbage Wastes) there was a lone white lizard floating in the water. This isn't too much of an inconvenience, but it is something noticeable.

Just thought of possibly bringing that to some attention. It is a unique experience, even if it does not completely fit within and causes some creatures to be stuck in the water. If this is a consistent issue, it may be best to shift Shoreline's spawns to that of Rivulet's, so it still has the strength in difficulty. Hope this helps in any way! :)

Ok so there is a huge issue with this slugcat... In shoreline (potentially other biomes too) there is NOTHING TO EAT! No bugs of any kind spawn besides batflies, which outrageously aren't filling at all, and jellyfish, which aren't plentiful enough to last more than 3 cycles before just straight up starving to death! I was trying to do an expedition with this slugcat, and it was utter torture as I had to go to shoreline to store 5 jellyfish in the same shelter, MY ONLY FOOD SOURCE!

PLEASE make batflies an acceptable food choice, at the very least you NEED to make them worth half a food point and not merely a quarter, as that's such a waste of time to collect! And while you're at it, you should make sure the damage for spears is the average (survivor) strength, as this slugcat should NOT be throwing weak spears while having what appears to be hunter spawns...

Also please put in the description of the mod what the stats are for the slugcat, like spear damage, chance to die to a bite (defense), and how fast it moves... Or you could at least say which slugcat was used as the base and what changes may have been made to the stats. This isn't fun information to find out by yourself, not fun at all...

idea for an ability: make a small sized radius around sporecat that stuns every creature that is affected by sporepuffs for one second or less
