Unit & Encounter balancing
This discussion topic is about the balancing of the different units and spells taken individually but also the synergy you may find between them. I have tried to balance all Tribe units to have on average battle stats equivalent to a Soldat or Veteran ranked unit of the same tiers, and I have taken into account the perceived strength of their special abilities. Spells are also a topic of balancing, so feel free to mention them as well. In the end the balancing of each unit taken individually is (approximately) right, but I am very far from having experimented properly with all the possible synergies that may exist (and might require some fixes from me in the future).

I am looking to also have in this section some feedback about encounter balancing. In general, I have designed all the battle enchantments to be very impactful on the course of the battle and I want to force players to play differently and adapt their strategy accordingly. It’s possible that some battles might be too hard or too easy, so far they are obviously harder but not that hard to me as neutral defender sets will always have this pretty big disadvantage against players of being stuck with unranked units.

I am copy pasting a comment here made about the balancing of encounters-

"The elemental Censors in the lost librarys are pretty stupid OP, they either need to spawn closer or only spawn 1 or 2 elementals and only replace the ones that die, i had one spawn at the very back corner and by the time i got back there there was about 8 lesser elementals out thats pretty stupid honestly expecially since it does not show the censor on the pre battle screen, and killing all the units in there doesnt stop the censor like it does with other map effects".

Conflux Control Mages are probably the strongest unit in the mod, arguably the whole game for their tier. Their many useful abilities (launch whole armies over walls!) along with frickin' Dominate makes them a must in every playthrough. The problem is that they are a T2, not a T3 which would make more sense given how extremely powerful they are. That, or nerf them a bit. Probably replace Dominate with a weaker variant.

So far what I have changed (will go in next update)-
Dominate becomes Lesser Dominate;
-> Ability is now once per battle instead of 3-turns cooldown
-> Resist check reduced to 10 spirit instead of 13 spirit.

Difficulty is way too high, and there's too many roaming units. Please nerf the ai back to classic aow3
