Gloves stats
Idk how to balance this, any scale suggestions?

Hi

Using your mod not many hours ingame but I notice 3 things. The mod makes vanilla gloves outdated. I can found nitrile gloves in almost any house and the "work" gloves (forgot the name) in almost any shed behind houses. But the endgame gloves are the welder ones, they are very resistant and with high armor points

In vanilla usually it's more or less uncommon to find gloves, but with the mod I always had the welder gloves in a few hours, mostly found them in Fire deparments or sheds.

So maybe to balance things you could make heating stats different. A welder glove should be 100% insulation, heating a lot the character so you have to take in mind that.

I usually (and many people) play with Dynamic Traits, so that makes things harder regarding heating but the good gloves now don't heat you much

So that's my suggestion, make full gloves like welder, nitrile, boxing, heavy work or any other fully and chuncky glove more insulation so the character sweat more having to equilibrate the heat-armor protection

I thought about that, but it will encourage ppl to use them in winter, and I expect them to use the least protection and more insulation in cold weather

Then you can increase insulation but decrease waterproof. And adjust the weight of the gloves. Welder gloves should be more heavy for example. It's the only way to balance this imo

I second increasing insulation on welding gloves. You shouldn't favor balance over realism, tho most people don't survive long enough to reach winter anyway, and it's a real pain in the butt to have high insulation before winter.

That said I would really like to have a craftable plate glove, max protection, no insulation and can't get holes. Should require 5-8 metalwork and some tailoring, a few small metal sheets, welding mask and rod, propane torch, leather or cloth strips, needle, thread and a club hammer (for bending sheets). Oh and you can make it have some forearm protection as well, realistically it's not hard to make one (should require more tailoring tho, like 5)

Please consider adding a plate glove, I would really like to have a realistic late-game clothing like that, the skill requirements make it balanced imo.

That's more like a scrap armor mod thing, I aim to have real life clothing here, specially having most of the occupations with their corresponding gloves set.

scrap armor was too op and I didn't like it so that's why I asked (and cuz this is a glove-centric mod), I get it if u don't want to tho

My personal preference is to have things balanced around vanilla, with the best modded additions matching or ever so slightly outperforming the best vanilla equipment. That being said I love this mod and I can't part with it, however, if it were up to me I would bring down all of the resistances more in line with their vanilla counterparts. Namely the welder gloves, despite making sense they quickly became the best in slot hand apparel for the entire server.
Leather gloves were previously the most common and the stat increase from 30 Scratch Defense/15 Bite Defense to the 100/100 of the Welder gloves is quite jarring, and it leaves things tailoring and sewing leather patches less impactful. That said I LOVE this mod, keep up the good work!

All gloves are repairable, I don't know with what materials and I'm unwilling to find a way to test that out, by making some gloves unrepairable like various vanilla items, you can further balance them mod.

For an example:
Firefighter Gloves - Firefighter jacket and pants cannot be repaired, gloves should be the same..
Welding Gloves - Could be repairable, depending on the material, but for balance probably not.
Winter Gloves - Padded jacket and pants cannot be repaired, gloves should be the same.

Cloth, Denim and Leather Hand Wrapping - Due to the ease of making this item, you probably shouldn't be allowed to repair them, especially as it doesn't make much sense to sow leather patches into a cloth wrap you wrap your arms in.
