Light Switch Plus

Incident
English is not my native language, so I hope my opinion is conveyed accurately. On March 3, my mod received a DMCA takedown notice, claiming that it was a copy of the "Lightswitch Electrician" mod without any new features. However, my "Light Switch Plus" mod creates a new tile by overwriting the switch image on the external lamp properties, which is different from the "Lightswitch Electrician" mod that adds a move option to the vanilla tile properties.

I tried to explain the differences to Nippytime, the uploader of "Lightswitch Electrician," but he verbally abused me and blocked me before I could get a response. Feeling wronged, I wrote about the situation on a community forum without intending to bully Nippy.

Many users became angry on my behalf and started review bombing Nippy's mods, which prompted him to apologize for cursing and blocking me and promised to lift the DMCA takedown. I also apologized for any unintentional harassment and urged the community to stop attacking Nippy.

However, Nippy continued to claim that my mod was a copycat and accused the community of being a "hacker group." He censored and deleted comments that disagreed with him and insulted the majority of the community forum by calling them losers. These actions made the situation worse.

Fluent English speakers, including the community manager, contacted Nippy for arbitration and asked for evidence to support his claim, but he provided none. I wrote this article to clarify my position and emphasize that most people in the community are not to blame for the situation. Thank you for reading.
