Thanks
There are actually a couple of units that do that. Odryssian Peltasts and cavalry. I think I will do more on the overhaul.
The Odrysian Gallo-Thracian Infantry is worse than the Tylis version yet is the same price... was this a mistake?
IMO Bessi Hillmen need a buff... they are too weak for their price.
Dii Swordsmen could use better weapon damage (40?) and better melee defence (62?) to bring them more in line with a unit such as chosen swordsmen which are the same price.
The Ody Royal Peltasts have 40 morale, this seems too low as other Royal Peltast units are more like 70.
Your Late Thracian Peltasts are described as Light Missile Infantry compared with the regular Thracian Peltasts which were Very Heavy Missile Infantry... just seems a little odd... not sure if this actually has a gameplay effect.
A lot of your elite peltasts have a rating of 6 shots per minute, whereas the vannila elite units are more often 7 or 8 shots per minute... did you mean it to be like this?
And finally i feel like there isnt much difference between the OHC and the EC to justify EC being 50 gold more... as well as the morale problem that was mentioned by someone earlier.
Hope my thoughts are useful.. Thank you for making such a great mod! :D
Also, the Odrysian melee infantry is intentionally weak since it is a peltast + cavalry faction and is not supposed to have strong infantry. The high prices are meant to challenge a player who doesn't want to play the faction in its historical way. I did the same with Parthian infantry by making them over priced. Basically you do have the choice to play the faction unhistorically by making your armies sword infantry only, but it will cost you. I figure that this is pretty realistic as it would have been difficult for a Thracian king to actually redesign his army from it's traditional default. That's my reasoning on it anyway.
I might just buff them up slightly though. The peltast stuff are oversights and I'll fix them right away. An update will be save game compatible too so don't worry about your campaign.
The other point i forgot to mention is that i love the guerrilla-style ambushers you have given them and the effect on gameplay this has. I was wondering if giving the Thinyi Ambushers a +10 bonus against infantry like the other club-wielding Suebi units would be effective at keeping this tactic more viable against better quality units later in the game, as sadly i feel their weapon damage stat lets them down in combat.
And phew! Thats a worry off my mind, thanks for making the changes save game compatible. :) Please keep up the great work Sebidee! :D
Due to the fact that I don't have the Pirates and Raiders DLC, I can't play as the Ardiaei or Odrysian Kingdom, but would like to play as related factions (especially Illyrian factions as I'm currently playing Daorsi in a co-op campaign). If you're not up for it, I understand, but it'd be pretty neat if you did. Cheers!
