I recently came back to this game and downloaded this mod, no others.

I am playing as rome and I am finding the early battles to be a let down. Not much to charging, units simply make contact and stop. A unit could have 50 meters or so between them, I charge them, they run, slow, first few make contact, then the rest walk closer to that point.

What gives? A limitation of rome II?
