I think that having the Nail Arts lock the Knight in place while he's charging it makes them a lot less useable how they would be in the game, and thus they're not an option people pick a lot.
For fully new moves, the most obvious place is from stuff like charms, though obviously a lot of them need to be reworked to fit in a turn based fighting game. Here's a few idea's, though if any of them sound unreasonable keep in mind I'm not a game designer and none of these are professional fdsjkhasfdhj
Thorns of Agony - Setup move that activates quickly but takes one super bar of meter. If attacked within the next set amount of frames (for this example let's say if the Knight is hit within the next 30 frames), then the attack is immediately interrupted by thorns lashing outwards and knocking the opponent far back. Kind of like a preemptive burst that can leave you safe to throw out a risky move if you time it right.
Spore Shroom - Focusing attack the spawns a cloud of yellow spores in a circular radius. Charges faster than crystal dash, and does little damage but slowly drains health while opponents are standing in it (like robot's flames)
Heavy Blow - Neutral attack similar to Mark of Pride and Nail. Can be input to face any direction, essentially just a slightly slower version of Nail attack that inflicts more hitstun on the enemy when it lands.
These work as standalone moves I feel, but implementing some sort of system where the Knight can either have a certain number of charms at once and can swap them if standing still, or potentially easier would be having certain charms that would seem like too strong or too much of a statistical upgrade be locked behind paying Super Meter to equip it and gain it's perks. Examples would be using a bar of Super to unlock the Soul Catcher and gain more meter on each hit, 2 bars to unlock the Quick Focus and having less startup frames on their Soul attacks, or paying 3 bars of super to unlock the Grimmchild for a period of time, similar to Wizard's Orb (though hopefully far less complicated lmao)
