Recently my friend and I were playing this map together and both died with an extra life during the final boss. He died first and was immediately sent to the death screen without his extra life even being considered. Soon after I died and the exact same thing happened to me.

Just now I was doing a solo run and was attempting to abuse the extra life invulnerability since it makes the boss a cakewalk. The very first time I went to do this the same thing as before happened to me, immediately ending my run. I had died with an extra life multiple times before this during the run and it worked perfectly fine which leads me to believe that the problem may be isolated to the final boss.

This bug is impacting my final boss strategy heavily and tbh it is way too long and grindy otherwise. Has anyone else experienced this bug and if so do they know more about it?
