Suggestion: Mech Fire Control
So, this idea is a way to allow mechanators to control more turrets, kinda. It comes in 2 parts: Mech Shooters and Mech Controll Computers

  • Mech Shooters
    These are special mechs that can utilize fire control computers. But they can only manually target if they are within command range of your mechantor

    They will prioritize targets that are able to harm the mechanator, then prioritize other targets.

    They are as follows (in order of unlocking):
    1. Basic Mech Shooter:
      • Controll Stats
        • 3 bandwith
        • Can control 4 turrets
        • Shooting of 4
      • Defenses
        • Almost no armour
        • No defenses

    2. Advanced Mech Shooter:
      • Control Stats
        • 4 bandwith
        • Can control 8 turrets
        • Shooting of 8
      • Defenses
        • Low armour
        • Small lowshield
        • Needle gun for defense (stops using fire controll computer to fire this, only attacks if under attack)

    3. Ultra Mech Shooter:
      • Controll Stats
        • 7 bandwith
        • Can control 15 turrets
        • Shooting of 15
      • Defenses
        • Medium armour
        • strong lowshield
        • Point-defense turret that targets any hostiles, without distracting it from shooting
      • Other Notes
        • Has a small relay in it, allowing manual firing even if the mechanator is outside command range
  • Mech Control Computers
    These computers allow a mechanator to wirelessly connect to turrets as if they where mechs. Each turret will consume as much bandwidth as it did to a normal tower, but to the mechanator (allowing the controll of as many turrets as bandwith you have)

    Will prioritize targets that are a danger to the mechanator

    1. Basic Mech Control Computer
      • Only works if mechanator is awake
      • auto-aiming only works if mechanator is within control radius
      • The building consumes 5 bandwith without any turrets
      • Base efficiency of 50%
      • The bandwith converter produces x wastepacks every y days.

    2. Advanced Mech Control Computer
      • Works any time
      • auto-aiming only works if mechanator is within control radius
      • The building doesn't consume any bandwith
      • Base efficiency of 60%
      • The bandwith converter produces less wastepacks than the previous one, at the same rate

    3. Ultra Mech Control Computer
      • Works any time
      • Can auto-aim from anywhere on the map
      • Base efficiency of 75%
      • Increases bandwidth by +5
      • The bandwidth converter produces 0 waste packs
  • Tech Requirements
    • Basic Mech Shooter
      • Fire Controll Tower
      • Basic Mechtech
      • Multi-anylyzer
    • Basic Mech Control Computer
      • Standard Mechtech
      • Advanced Fire Control Tower
      • Basic Mech Shooter
    • Advanced Mech Shooter
      • Basic Mech Control Computer
      • High Mechtech
    • Advanced Mech Control Computer
      • Advanced Mech Shooter
    • Ultra-Control
      Note: unlocks both Ultra Mech Control Computer and Ultra Mech Shooter
      • Advanced Shooter
      • Ultra Mechtech
      • Ultra-Tech Fire Control Tower
      • Waste pack Atomizer

this is pretty dope idea. would love to see it as an addition. i had a similar thought when i first saw the mod but your method is much more elegant then mine.

yeah, only took me over 3 days of writing (:

Out of curiousity, what was yours? (why was it less elegant)
It's amazing how many elegant concepts can be taken from non-elegant concepts, so maybe it will inspire improvments!

Maybe instead of the name mech shooter, perhaps Mech Operator? Or maybe gunner?
