Why can't I bind the shooting of sleep darts to controller triggers??

I just want to use right trigger to shoot darts... It's called a trigger for crying out loud! Why can't I use it?! Is this a rain world problem? Is it a problem with the mod? Surely it's not my controller, so what could be the issue here??
