(NEW/UPDATED) Roosenvard Universe Lore
It is 1932, and the world still recovers from the prior 1908-1917 Great Alliance War, scars being healed but scabs still present...

During an anniversary of the Great Alliance War, the king of the Zasnyan Empire participated in a local gathering, when he was suddenly shot and killed by an assassin. The killer fled but eventually was arrested, being revealed to be a Druavanian spy who acted on the murder on his own accord.
Angered by this, the Zasnyan parliament writes a ultimatum to the Druavanians, threatening to invade them if they don't bend to their will. Defiantly, the Druavanians decline due to the intentionally absurd terms.
And so, the Zasnyan Empire declares war, starting a domino effect that would get the Kadelburgians involved due to an agreement between Zasnyan and Kadelburgian officials that made it so the Kadelburgians were required to join any conflict that the Zasnyans found themselves in.
The Vebrusians then, seeing warring countries on their borders, reinforces their own borders with soldiers, but an incident involving a Kadelburgian officer's car and a few Vebrusian soldiers cause an outrage than throws the Vebrusians into war. The Montagne Blaue and Commonwealth quickly jump in, with the Roosenvardians and Brandrietians getting thrown into the mix soon after.

And now, the war between Les Puissances Alliées and Vierfache Allianz starts, starting a 11-12 year war...

Almost immediately after the Vebrusians declared war, the Kingdom of Ujedinjena Slavija also joined in on their behalf, and though their relationship with the Kingdom of Druavania are strained, still made a commitment to help out, most notably in the battles on the Druavanian-Zasnyan border and near the Druavanian capital of București.
A year into the war, București would finally fall to joint Kadelburgian-Zasnyan forces after a grueling battle of attrition and close-quarters urban warfare, with 600,000 Kadelburgian and Zasnyan soldiers ending up dead, wounded or missing, and almost a million dead, wounded or missing on the Druavanian and Slavijan side (mostly Druavanian civilians).

At the same time (and a year before București fell), the war in the West was less bloody (for now), but more sporadic, with constant back-and-forth assaults and counter-attacks headed by the Kadelburgians and Montagne Blaue, as they both duked it out on a daily basis. Though, the Kadelburgians finally achieved the upper hand and pushed into Montagne land...
