Fire enemies make the game unplayable
Liked the idea at first, until 4 of my runs in a row were ended the same way, I walked into a rocky enclosed area, and at least 5 or more fire enemies including the faster one all come out at once and throw so much fire it becomes unplayable.

Even if I could get the coverage or damage under control, my frames at this point are now dropped to about 5-10, so retaliating becomes near impossible.

I'd really like to keep playing but I'm gonna wait until this is adjusted because I don't use the word "unplayable" lightly.

Agreed. If enough fire throwers are present it can lag my game to single digit frame numbers, making aiming impossible.

ur somehow right. Amount of molotovs they throw after while lower FPS badly

Same problem, got 5 frames in that room and couldnt even pull my gun out

the problem isnt that its a room full of enemies that are all throwing molotovs, the problem is how the dev went about adding it into the game. each enemy throws like 5 at one time and it turns into a game of floor is lava most likely before youve even killed an enemy. i thought the snowball guys were bad enough with how they can stunlock you but it seriously needs a change

I just completed the map for the first time and I dont really agree on this statement. All the mollies just it hard and I always take those rooms patient. It shouldnt be easy to complete :D

The mollies are HARD, but beatable. But the frame rate issues are really bad, definitely needs to be worked on

I guess the engine just can't keep up. I'm dropping to ~10 fps with my i5-11400F and 6600XT.
But what's even worse is the second boss arena.
Throwing a nade makes my game freeze for 5-10 seconds.
It's sad how Rogue is being held back by a 19 year old engine.

Hard agree. I like the idea and the challenge it brings, but the impact it has on the framerate of even a high end system is too big of a sacrifice. Lower the amount of molotovs thrown each tick and it should be better.

Hey I know you think you're really funny but the issue is literally caused by moving. You can't possibly think you're about to give the most basic roguelite advice to someone who's been playing them longer than you've been alive.

Don't move too far into the room so you don't activate them, and keep few lines of sight from enemies. This will solve both dying to fire and the framerate issues, as it'll keep few of them available to fire molotovs at a time.

If that's not possible, rush and keep moving, ideally jump and if you got Feather or Athlete for jump height, you can almost certainly avoid fire damage. Ricochet & high Technology is a free win, but it really shines when you don't have to deal with ranged enemies, as they'll kill themselves off. The jumping also helps avoid the melee enemies that aren't affected by Blessing or Ricochet. Tunnel down molotov enemies first and sustain the damage from other enemies as a trade-off.

At least that's how I've been dealing with this.

If your build isn't good enough to deal decent damage & have the fire rate or spread to kill limb-based enemies, or has Ricochet/Red Deck/Paranoid and a Shotgun, it's a blessing that the molotov spam overwhelms you and ends the run, so you can spend the XP you gathered on more progression.

None of this addresses the core issue. I can play around it all I want, the point is that they actually break it to the point I can't play around it
