- Speedlimiter, Reducing wheel power, smart pathing are essential to survive the early stage of the game.
- Upgrading vehicle towards extra stability is a great plan, however u need to collect stuff first!
2) Inventory management:
- pay attention to components: some are more difficult to earn than others!
3) Scavenging: magnetic plates are the way... how to attatch items it's all about your style:
- ctrl+lmb with grinder will DETATCH blocks from a grid
- use PARK script and have a mechanical arm (rotor hinge pistons) to pickup detatched devices
- use Weld Pad to attatch scavenged item to your grid
- (optionally) use "Improvised engineering/experimentation" mod to move blocks by hands, or become an expert pusher/kicker to align blocks correctly.
- make room on your vehicle, so you can travel around while carrying scavenged blocks
- before finding the medium cargo container: connectors, grinder, welder are your friends as they give you inventory space!
4) CONTROLS! using cranes, switching locks to magnetic plates, playing with suspensions.. tons of commands that must be accessed easily to have a smooth experience.
- hold ctrl while looking ad blocks and practice with Build Vision mod, using radial menu to perfrom action is way handier than accessing K menu all the time. Check Build Vision settings in game and increase the range: will help!
- Don't be afraid to spend time configuring toolbar
5) Large grid aren't "that heavy", ideally you don't wanna abuse of physics incongruencies.. however you'll get that expertise in time... to start, remember you can carry around multiple large grid blocks on your small grid vehicle just by locking it to magnetic plate
- Play with locks, share inertia tensor and torque... it's easy to break the rover if not careful.
Also, it's a good idea to disable braking on front wheels.
That is... quite the case.

For awhile I tried adding the compass mod, and whenever I saw a signal I would make a GPS marker with the distance to the signal and the direction it was in in the title. But signals spawn too often and I can't resist going to check out that grid that I just saw even though it's definitely not what I was heading towards and now I gotta figure out the proper heading again and....yeah.
I also tried creating GPS markers for every abandoned settlement I found and recording things I might want to come back and get eventually. This got tedious after a while and keeping track of what wrecks I had or hadn't discovered already was getting annoying and clogging my HUD.
So now I just aimlessly drive around. Unless I find something that's either *really* rare or is what I am currently searching for, I delete it to clear up space for new spawns.
