Research Overflow Balance Discussion
Thread for any balance discussion on the mechanic! But before you make recommendations, please keep a few things in mind:
- Internally, the game saves your "research rate" as "research points" inside every technology. So, if a technology would take 3 turns to research at 100% research rate, it actually requires 300 points, and the game just stores your research rate as points in it. So when you're thinking about all the different systems that add +X% research rate, think of them as points instead.

- This mod doesn't really create any research points; it just prevents wastage. In vanilla, you can waste anything from 0% to 99% of your current research rate on the final turn of your technology.

- Besides bug fixes and new options for MCT, I won't actually make any gameplay changes in this mod (i.e. like changing some building's research rate). It's intended to improve a game mechanic's functionality. However, I'm still all ears for improvements; maybe I'll make a submod for those.
