Creator of Skrimish here! Please post exploits, bug reports, and/or any other suggestions on the map here. I may not be able to get to everything, and updates to the map may not be instant. :steamhappy:

(Note: I am not responsible for the VSH components of the map, but I can forward any feedback to the respective people.)

Not sure if you're still listening or if the team can update/fix the map, but there seems to be an exploit where you can basically "force" yourself to be on BLU team (The team only Saxton is suppose to be). The map correctly kicks the joined played off of BLU and puts them on RED. I would assume if the rest of the VSH maps have this exploit too.

Naturally, there have been bots that, intentionally or not, that try to force themselves on to BLU, get placed back onto RED, and repeat ad infintum. This results in a lot of "*Player* has been automatically assigned to BLU team" messages in chat. I can't say this is what it's like for everyone, but I personally got kicked out of a game because of "message/console overflow" and I'm pretty sure I even crashed once because of it.

I'm uncertain if these bots were made SPECIFICALLY for VSH, but one defining characteristic is that they have very simple names, like "me", "is", "if", and so on.

I don't have footage or proof of this (I can provide some if needed), but you can probably join a VSH casual match and see it in action. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Thank you.

This is a known issue and IIRC think this will be fixed in an update to the gamemode this summer, though I am not certain. As for the bots, the consensus is that they have been made specifically for VSH and there is nothing the gamemode creator can do about that, though in practice only bots consistently perform the exploit, so I recommend trying to find a community server running the official maps as they tend to have better anti-cheat.

Thank you so much for responding quickly! You and the team did a great job on the maps, and I hope they become playable again!

One question and one suggestion about VSH (I know you are not responsible for VSH, but answer the question if you know and please pass on the suggestion.)

Question: Why isn't there any kind of scoring for players in the match tab, like there was in the old VSH?

Suggestion: Give some kind of scoring (visible in the tab) to the players, I think it would encourage the players to go after Hale more and also keep them more engaged in the game. It can be something simple, just like in the old VSH, where players earned one point for every 500 damage. Additionally, showing the top 3 MVPs at the end also gave players greater incentive to improve.

I don't think it's fully known why scoring doesn't work in Casual mode (it should work fine in community servers) but I think it has to do with mp_tournament, which is usually set to 1 on Casual servers, being set to 0 for VSH to fix issues it was causing that do not appear on community servers (these issues may also be related to autoteam, which should be disabled for VSH in a future gamemode update). While there are no guarantees, Lizard Of Oz (the main creator of the gamemode) has said that fixing this is "on the radar".
