Siege Weaponry in Mercenary Companies
Some mercenary companies should come with siege weaponry because it would make them more useful and realistic. Siege weaponry, such as trebuchets, mangonels, and onagers are essential for taking fortified holdings and castles, which are often the main objectives of wars. Without siege weaponry, mercenaries would have to rely on the slow process of attrition or assault, which would cost them more time and casualties. Siege weaponry would also give mercenaries an edge over enemy armies, as they could inflict more damage towards the attacking/defending side and increase the war score in your favor.

Siege weaponry would also make sense from a historical perspective, as many mercenary companies in the Middle Ages were experienced in siege warfare and had access to siege engines. For example, the Catalan Company, a famous mercenary group that operated in the Byzantine Empire and Greece, was known for its skill in besieging and defending fortresses. The Varangian Guard, another renowned mercenary force that served the Byzantine emperors, also used siege weapons such as ballistae and catapults. Therefore, having some mercenary companies come with siege weaponry would reflect their historical role and capabilities.

The mercenary companies that have access to siege weapons should be more expensive to keep it balanced for players and AI alike.
