Your ship model requirements
HI all,

To make the NPC ships compelling for us there are a few criteria that I think need to be followed:

- they have to be worth raiding. Nobody is going to raid a ship with dozens of missile turrets if it only gives steel plate.
- they have to be defended relative to their resource value.
----A small civilian ship consisting of mostly light materials and a small reactor should only have a pair of interior turrets.
----A large military ship should have half a dozen gattling turrets and maybe a handful of missile turrets.
----For minining and trading ships they shouldn't be too heavily defended... but shouldn't be too easy to destroy either.
- they should look the part:
---only military ships should have a lot of heavy armor. Some heavy freighters might have heavy armor at the front or around docking areas but that's about it
----civilian ships and commercial freighters will have more glass and eye candy.
----trading and mining ships are going to be very boring, practical or ugly designs... they are built for a purpose.

The ultimate test questions are:
- does your ship look like its performing a role? (or I can figure out its role)
- would you actually go after this ship to raid? (is it worth it)
- is the loot from the ship too rich? (don't want to have I-win targets that are easy and filled with valuable material
- is the ship too easy or too hard to attack?

I will make some adjustments to models (take or remove defenses if too easy/hard, delete excessive loot) but the more realistic and fun you can make your ships the better.

i have a ship on the steam workshop... take a look at ti when you can, and feel free to use it in this mod if you thik it is good enough... it is a heavy frigate, 217E variant...

Im currently building a large capital ship (not insanely large but maybe 40X80 ish) If I blew some holes in it and took off some turrets and turned it off could it be a defeated capital ship with plenty of ways in and some fighters inside to boot. would that be possible?

Storm. I have an idea for a ship. I don't know how to make one correctly. How about a Scout Ship? They have not good defense but they come in like 4 or 3 packs. So you know. Can be hard if you don't have a good ship. Though if you're good with a rifle and can hijack a ship you're fine. Maybe.

I've got a few ships of my own design up on the workshop. Two frigates, a corvette and a cargo hauler. I haven't loaded them with loot and the cargo hauler might be a fairly easy target, but check them out. If you like them, feel free to use them.

Thanks guys, I'm kinda waiting for the game dev to stabilize a moment. Waiting for the sound modding to work reliably. Once the game is more or less stable I will be doing a big update.

One question about accepting Ships, are thry able to contain more mods than your own, and if so, whats the limit to how many mods?

Unfortunately they have to include only the mods in HU... otherwise they won't work for people that don't have these other mods installed.

Since the majority of mod authors refuse to allow me to slipstream their mods into HU (because they don't get subscribe recognition) I can only work with what I can :(

Hello. Right now, I didn't build really good ships, but I have developed a gravety drive nacelle. I have implemented it into a challenger. Feel free to use it. (Challenger Grav.-Drive)
