Trains Bug
When crossing switches or bridge gates on the railroad, there's a bump that makes the train and cars derail, when moving at high speeds, and at low speeds, the wheels won't traverse it at all. I've only used SligWolf's trains on the rails here, so I don't know about other trains, if they exist. Fix pls.

That is not a bug or someting I can do anything about. This will be on every map that has moveable traintrack brushes like bridges and switches going over them.

They are alligned perfectly, so it probably is a bug from the game engine.

Try to use actual wheels and not sliders.

Yes, this is a known problem, there is a very very slight height difference between a brush and Func/Prop_dynamic. This is solved by using suspension bogies. Wheels work much better, but don't make them roll. Use super/normal ice and weld them to the bagie, or use Magnum McKivler's train pack.

I love this map, its my favourate map actually because it has everything.. unfortunately im a massive railfan also.. so the train part of the map is the one that gets most of the attention.. as others said im using sligwolf's trains as vehicles.

with me the bridge with the simple hump works perfectly.. its just the ones that move that have a hump.. I know its alot of ask given its a loss of functionality in a way.. but given that it makes the rails non-usable

could we have the 2 moveable bridges simply replaced by a static one similar to the one used on the other side of the map? I realise this would make the railway a bit rollercoaster like.. but atleast itd work wonderfuly and restore the rail function.. youve put so much effort and detail into the underground sections its really skillful.. its just the topside with the bug that needs fixing

Try using suspension bogies. Really. (This involves building your own train.)

Building your own train is long, time consuming, and isn't in the cards for most people.

More to the point, just use Metrostroi trains. They work fine.

Hmmm. That kinda takes the fun out of it. Wouldn't you want to show off your new [Steam, Diesel, Electric engine, or Rollingstock] to other people?

You can make a train (suspension bogey) train with 5 props and a thruster, or you can make a steam engine wheelbase. Both opt for a smoother ride over rail bumps (excluding the fact of sprops drivers being horribly bumpy on their own).

Gonna let you know that im currently working on gm_functional_flatgrass2.

This is still VERY EARLY ALPHA stage, but so far I fixed the rail bumps with a workaround with 'bufferplates' FCN Magnum tought me.

So if, and once v2 is released, this issue wont happen anymore. I already tested it with wheel trains as well as slider trains as well as sligwulfs trains and there are no problems anymore when traveling with high speeds.

I simply did not know about the height difference or how to avoid it back when I made this map, thus why the rails were bumpy.

If, in fact, you are working on the rail system of said map, May I put in a request for a subway system with stations on it? Most maps I find have no working or adaquate stations, as they are too short, or too far away from the track (I made a dupe that is 4 cubes high. That makes it flush with most train vehicles and models). Another thing I would like to ask is if there can be a subway system, then will it run to all parts of the map?

Now, as for some non train related questions, I'd like to ask if there will be something like an underground city like before, but complete with a hotel and housing area on one side (with its own station) and if the Club and other areas will see some improvements. That's all I have to ask for, and I would really appreciate these being put into the new map.
