Inventory Tetris - Grid Based Inventory Overhaul Beta [B41]

Suggestion - Top-down Inventories
Hi, thank you for making this mod, I was just thinking to myself how this type of inventory would be fun to play with.

I was thinking of adding a twist to stand out from similar inventory systems in many other games. What if inventory grids were like vertical containers with gravity, so that any item you add will fall down as far as possible in the container, and you can only remove the topmost item in a column in the container?

It makes for some interesting container dynamics
- a very wide shallow container makes lots of items accessible but not space efficient (toolbox might actually be useful?)
- a taller container is more space efficient but you have to very literally dig into the container to access the items at the bottom. (think a backpack that's been stuffed full, you have to dump the backpack out to reach the stuff at the bottom)

I'm probably not gonna do this. But I really love this idea.

This is a really nice idea ngl. Would be pretty cool as it would add a whole new level of management needed

It could be a fun alternate mode. Really brings the Tetris to Inventory Tetris.

You could be really evil and make some items not rectangles. Like L shape items that waste some squares unless you fit it around other items.

Looking forward to it! I'm a bit of a modder myself, not sure if I can help out.

It's all good. Wasn't actually that much work. Just need to add the sandbox option.
Will be included with the next update.

I'll throw another suggestion out there as well. make anything that is under the topmost item grayed out or hidden.

That suggestion would only attract the hardcore or immersive players i'm pretty sure. just throwing that out there.

Also, for certain kinds of containers it doesn't make sense to have a top down inventory right? the floor probably won't, shelving probably won't.

Love this setting but the grayed out items should be still accessible just penalized to grab. Like digging down to the bottom of your backpack to get the water you stored there. Maybe take longer the deeper it is? Sped up and slowed by organized traits? Would make inv managment and organization really matter.
