After making it past the door requiring the C4 and the broken elevator gate beyond, is there any further secrets in that area other than the goopy stuff at the bottom?

mostly just the art and some tricks on the eye

Is it a bad Idea to help PRISMS and repair the facility?
Judging by how it talks to us and explains alot of the wierd and grotesque stuff inside of the facility it doesn't seem to be evil but at the same time I also get pretty strong GLaDOS/skynet vibes from it

How old is the facility and who built it? What was your inspiration for the whole project?
