Warriors of the Jade Sea

Jade Sea Pirates

Inspired by the historical Wokou or Wako pirates, these lowlifes on the high seas are the scourge of Grand Cathay's shores, pillaging and raiding whenever they can. Their haunts range from the coasts of Ind and Khuresh to the mystical isles of Nippon. However, some that are brought to justice, quickly repent than suffer execution and lend their brutal services to the Cathayan navy itself.

Jade Sea Pirates are very much alike their Empire counterparts, the Free Company Militia. However, they are fearsome on the charge and would very much love to meet the foe head on as soon as possible.

These units are T1, and can be recruited from the Naval Barracks building chain at Yin-Yin's ship. They are also available from ports and the Dragon Fleet Garrison building.

Dragon Fleet Marines

The marines of the great dragon fleet are a rowdy bunch that perhaps best mirrors Yin-Yin's own boisterous spirit, unlike their sisters at Nan-Gau who maintain their appearances.

Sailors and soldiers who have accompanied the Sea Dragon on many campaigns, the marines are adept both at melee and ranged combat. The unit, unofficially dubbed the "Daring Flying Corps", due to their striking feather headpieces as well as the fact that they are also quick on their feet and faster with their hands when using their carbines; developed from a lifetime of savage deck fights on board enemy and allied ships alike.

These units are T2, and can be recruited from the Ship Arsenal building chain at Yin-Yin's ship. They are also available from ports and the Dragon Fleet Garrison building.

Sea Dragon's Hatamoto

The most fearsome of Yin-Yin's war host is her honor guard composed of samurai from Nippon. These master swordsmen are handpicked and were personally bested by Yin-Yin in past battles; their prowess in combat impressing her enough to bring them into the fold.

These heavy infantry samurai are primarily anti-infantry units that will absolutely make mince meat of lesser foes and go toe to toe even with the most armored of warriors. If equally matched, these swordsmen would even fight to the bitter end with their unique Death Poem ability, where they gain immense stat boosts and will not rout until every last one of them gets cut down by the enemy.

These units are T3, and can be recruited from the Admiral's Quarters building chain at Yin-Yin's ship. They are also available from ports.

Ogre Whalers

Ogre-kind have always been known to be daring vagabonds; forever obsessed with wanderlust as are they are of food.
It is no surprise then that some of these ogres would have taken fancy at the prospect of braving the Jade Sea in search of even bigger and tastier morsels deep within the ocean's bounty.

The whalers, so-called for their particular skills in hunting giant whales, are a expert monster hunters. Armed with their harpoon cannons, they can maim and skewer monsters of any kind from range as well as any entity marked 'large', to make them easier to kill. Particularly feisty and agile targets are given no respite for the whalers can also entangle them in fishing nets.

Ogre Whalers are T3 and can be recruited from the Ship Cannons building chain from Yin-Yin's ship. They are also available from ports and the Dragon Fleet Garrison building.

Ansatsusha

It is not uncommon for the infamous master assassins of far eastern Nippon to lend their services in the west; indeed, the dread ninjas have been a rather common, and often fatal, sight even on the busy streets of Marienburg. However, the Sea Dragon would want nothing but the best and most elite to add to her exotic motley crew, for the Grand Dragon Fleet, much like its cosmopolitan capital Fu-Chow, is best known for its racial diversity and harmony.

Ansatsusha are a special ops unit of ninja armed with potent toxins and explosives used to destroy their quarry. They can hastily stalk the battlefields almost undetected by the enemy and throw them into disarray with their special starpowder bombs that can leave poor survivor caught in its explosion blinded for an agonizing few seconds before the assassins quickly rush in for the kill.

Ansatsusha units are T3, and can be recruited from the Admiral's Quarters building chain at Yin-Yin's ship. They are also available from ports and the Dragon Fleet Garrison building.

Yi Cha Jungle Fighters

Thanks to Yin-Tuan, the lone survivor of the great disaster that befell Yin-Yin's original western expedition, Cathay's grand army have been well informed and aware of the terrible dangers that await in the New World. Repeated excursions have even formed a noteworthy brigade of the Jade Warrior corps that have personally honed their skills in combating the denizens of the great jungle.

Named after the ancient city of Itza where the warriors fought some of the fiercest and mightiest lizardmen Cathayans have ever faced, the Yi Cha Jungle Fighters are the premier scout ranger unit of the Cathayan expedition force in Lustria.

Yi Cha Jungle fighters are T3 units and can only be recruited after constructing the Summer Palace at Itza after conquering it.

Will these ever be made available to standard settlement buildings so that they are practical to field outside of Yin-Yin's army?
