how to use dynamite
i tried using it to blast open the safes like the diagram in the mine shows but it does nothing, there's also no prompt to use it on the safe itself so I have no clue what I'm meant to do

1 dynamite isn't enough, 5-6 usually works

5 dynamite, one hot potato or one charge.

I recommend going for the sunken ship north of lumber yard, since there are 2 sets of 2 safes right next to each other, which you can blow open at the same time. Just remember you can't use the Spud Canon there because you are swimming.

EDIT:
Explosive ammo works to, but takes a lot of shots
Pistols calibers: 100 rounds
Revolvers & most rifles: 70 rounds
Timberwolf/Grizzly: 50 rounds
