so me and a few friends were playing gourmand and rivulet campaign and every time we reached five pebbles on either campaigns his interactions were like he'd already seen us, so he either ignored or threw us out and did not play out the usual cutscenes that he would have in regular progression. this meant that in gourmand we did not receive the mark and that in rivulet we did not get asked to find the rarefaction cell.

i had no idea what mod was causing this so i went through the painstaking process of disabling each and every mod i had one by one, until i reached vinki and disabled him. the following run everything proceeded as normal.

weird right? this took me hours to figure out.

what i think is occurring is that Vinki's cutscene is for some odd reason forcefully triggering at the start of any campaign, as when you hibernate for the first time the game believes you have spoken to pebbles and marks the save file as such.

this needs to be fixed because otherwise story progression completely bugs out and in some cases makes it impossible to proceed. i'm keeping vinki disabled until i know for a fact it wont be doing that.
